A Hunting We Will Go....

So today is a pretty big day. We are heading out around 3pm to check out some houses that are, quite frankly, on the top of MY list, not necessarily Stephens.

Let’s back up…We Sold our house!! The Saturday I was in Charleston, the house showed, and Stephen didn’t even think it was shown because there was not realtor card. But it did, and Tuesday, we got our first ever offer…Wednesday we countered, and had resigned ourselves to the fact that if they tried to counter back, we’d just say “no” and let Sky finish out our upstairs for us. Thursday, they accepted and we were given 30 days to close. So on September 17th, we will officially be HOMELESS! It’s not that dramatic really, we are moving in with my wonderful in-laws for about a month and I’m actually looking forward to it! We are both truly blessed to have parents that we each adore, and they have a downstairs with 2 rooms and a bathroom that aren’t really used.

So this is where our journey begins.

We each have our “list” of things we like, want, NEED for our home.

Mine:

*Master Suite downstairs
*Big Soakin Tub!
*Kitchen with a curved counter for barstools
*Preferably a garage that’s not on the front of the house
*Ideally 4 bedrooms
*An extra sitting room/office/etc for bookshelves for all of my books
*And ideally, SOME kind of architectural interest…vaulted ceilings, built-ins, curb appeal….something!

His:
*Big separate bonus room for football games
**Preferably not next to the kids rooms
*On a cul-de-sac
*Separate Tub/Shower
*Good school zone
*2 car garage w/ storage

I mean, we really want all of the same things. We might place an emphasis on different things but overall, we want the same thing. Now on some of those things, I am a little willing to give it has most of what we want, and I think Stephen is too. So with that in mind…what in the world! Out of the 4 houses (again, these are my faves) My top one is his least fave, and my least fave is his top one?? Waaaaa??
So, NOT that your opinions are going to change us much, but let’s just play a game of before and after…here are the houses we are going to see today and their MLS# if you want more specs on Realtracs.com (You go to Search for Property, then below the counties, on the bottom right there is a little rectangular tab to search by MLS#)

(Listed in order of my faves…and obvious his faves will be on the bottom)….I love you baby. :)

1196979- 101 Wyncrest Ct. (My Fave)

1202588- 1025 Newman’s Trail

1194512- 125 Mansker Park Dr.

1204542- 161 Mansker Park Dr. (His Fave)

So cast your vote!  Share in the fun searching process with us....really it gets us pretty heated at times...but we've talked about it and are keeping it under wraps!

Now...BACK TO PACKING!!!!

  1. 1 and 3 are my faves. I don't hate Stephen's choice but the front bothers me. I don't like garages being visible from the street either. Good luck!

  2. Not to be a downer but the last two have contracts on them. We actually put an offer on the bottom one and someone else had a better offer than us. Happy House Hunting!!!!

  3. Congrats! We know how you feel. Trust me. We showed our house for the third time to the same people Thursday night. Really hoping that they will offer. We are going house hunting tomorrow!

  4. I vote for 122 Cedar Ridge Lane! ha!
This is like an online episode of House Hunters. My opinion is, because you want to know, stay on OUR side of town. Why? Because it is more rockin', that's why. Also, because the schools are better, or so they say!

  5. Given the previous comment that 2 of the houses have contracts, I only looked at the first 2. I LOVE the look of the first house. The only downside is that it only has 3 bedrooms. Therefore, the 2nd house seems to be more functional. But that all depends on how many kids you plan to have, will you have a guest room, could you use the bonus room as a guest room, etc. We're dealing with the same constraint.
